Skill base built on 37 years’ unbroken trade experience, from an indentured apprenticeship to present day sole trader.  A reputation for quality, reinforced with a knowledge base that is current in today’s market, and a wealth of skills and experience gained over the last 30 years yield the highest standards.

With a passion for using all types of natural paints, the business has evolved into specialising in the application of linseed paint.  Over the last two years I have invested in this venture to expand my skills, apparatus and knowledge.  Of course, I am not confined to working with just one kind of medium; I have remained conversant with other natural paints and products, and where required will work with synthetic paints at the client`s request.

Being based in the historic town of Epworth in North Lincolnshire, we are ideally situated for quick access to the motorway network making projects nationwide easy to undertake.

Experience and qualifications

My trade experience includes over ten years local authority work ranging from social housing to schools, public buildings, offices, residential homes to historic buildings.

Ten years Health Authority work ranging from clinics to offices, wards and treatment areas, public areas and laboratories, etc.

Thirteen years self employed undertaking private work both interior and exterior, commercial offices, dental surgeries, residential homes, shops, small businesses, cottages, church properties, town and country properties, taking a break of four years teaching Painting & Decorating.   Presently, I feel I want to condense this experience in order to concentrate on using natural, traditional finishes as previously stated, with particular attention to linseed paints.

How qualified am I? Originally qualified to Advanced Craft level and more recently added to this the Certificate of Education in order to teach decorating skills. This allowed me to gain the LCGI (Licentiateship of the City & Guilds of London Institute). It is my intention to complete my qualification status by eventually achieving a heritage skills qualification.

How I will achieve my mission

  • Support the ideology of using renewable and natural resources to manufacture paints free of chemical toxins
  • Use suppliers that employ sustainable practices
  • Encourage the application of natural paints that are fit for purpose to the sympathetic needs of traditional, period properties
  • Provide natural alternatives where a safe paint is the requirement for a toxin-free environment
  • Employ safe paint removal systems where preparation requirements dictate
  • Provide a tailored decorating service to both business and private clients prioritising minimum disruption
  • Realise customers` decorating needs where their agenda includes ethical environmental practices
  • Demonstrate responsibility of safe working practices
  • Source high-quality materials suitable to meet the project requirements
  • Update skills and knowledge with current relevant training
